Wooden Hot Tub

Do not worry about how to use the hot tub as Mark will explain this to you. It is all caveman technology!

Both hot tubs are in private locations

Here is some information on the hot tub. You will be asked to sign the following disclaimer:

Hot Tub – Disclaimer

£100 deposit (all damage will be charged for)

Please note that the hot tub is easy to use so don’t be put off. The main cost of hire is due to the work and cost of getting logs and kindling down to Driftwood. The burner uses a lot of wood to heat the water especially in winter and when the air temperature is very cold! Once hot it is easy to keep water temperature regulated with a small 1hour fire per day

·         Do not leave the fire unattended. It requires periodic checking and refilling with logs. You need to make sure that any small children do not have access to the wood furnace/snorkel stove.

·         Do not start the fire unless the hot tub is full of water to the designated mark

·         Do not let the water drop below this level as this can damage the stove – if this happens you may have to incur costs of replacing the stove (£700)

·         If the weather is likely to freeze then the tub must be emptied unless you are using the tub and the water is hot

·         If the water freezes this can damage the wood

·         Always leave at least 1 inch of water in the tub. If the tub is allowed to dry out fully this will cause shrinkage and damage

·         In warmer weather the tub can be left full of water

·         Children must not be left to attend to the fire – they must be supervised at all times by an adult

·         The chimney becomes hot along with the top of the stove – be very careful when placing logs in the stove

·         Always stir the water to distribute the temperature evenly

·         Let the fire smoulder when the tub has reached an ideal temperature

·         Do NOT use any bubble bath or products in the hot tub

Health Warning   DO NOT USE IF PREGNANT

I have read the above and take full responsibility for any loss or injury that may occur as a result of using the hot tub:

1…………………………………                3……………………………  5………………………

2…………………………………                4……………………………                            Date …./…./…….

Please note that in extreme weather conditions (e.g. freezing conditions) it is sometimes not possible to fill and empty the hot tub due to frozen pipes. This is a rare occurrence. There may be an extra cost in heating the hot tub in extremely cold weather.

Please note that the provision of logs, sticks and kindling is a time consuming and arduous procedure along with the costs of purchasing these e.g. £50 per builders sack of logs. Hence we have to charge for this provision accordingly – we do not make any profit from the provision of logs and wood. It is quite possible if using the hot tub snorkel stove and the wood burner continuously to use up to £130 of wood in winter a week. Please bear this in mind when considering the overall cost.
