For insurance purposes we need to know about all extra guests (Names and length of stay).
The cabin is a maximum of 7 birth no parties should exceed this number at any time without prior arrangement with Mark.
Any breech of the above may result in a request to leave the property.
Water Level
Please note that the water level can vary throughout the seasons. In a drought (ha ha) there will be a beach. The water is generally around 25 foot deep in the middle of the lake.
Water’s Edge is not just a cottage but there are outdoor facilities which need regular maintenance. The hot tubs need servicing and wood deliveries and preparation need to be organised. Mark may need to make the odd visit during your stay to check on the tubs e.t.c. He tries to do this when you are out e.g. on a day trip so that he can do any gardening, watering of plants or general maintenance. He needs to ensure that all equipment is in working order and that the property is in a safe condition. He may need to top up the water levels in the tubs or check the pH values. He will try to keep any visits to a minimum to avoid disruption of your holiday.
Water’s Edge is greats for guests who wish to enjoy the lake and its surroundings.
Please note that if your plan is just to get drunk and have a mad party and not look after this special place then please book somewhere else, as we want to keep Water’s Edge as a special and peaceful place. We do not want to clean up after parties taking truckloads of bottles to the tip or cleaning up broken glass. Water’s Edge is not the sort of place to host that sort of party and you would risk losing your deposit. Water’s Edge is not a hotel and there are dangers of being excessively drunk here e.g. when you are in charge of a boat, hot tub or log fire. We do not recommend that you use any of the equipment whilst you are drunk. Please respect Water’s Edge.
Risk Assessment of your party - the importance of a safe holiday
All health and safety issues will be explained to you on arrival when you meet Mark. This is part of a safety induction required by our insurance policy. Mark will need to explain to you the use of the hot tub, boats, the risks of fishing, using the wood burner, the care needed on the open pier and also the location of fire alarms, blankets and extinguishers. This is all for your own safety so please be patient.
Fire risks
Please do not hang towels around the wood burner inside the house. The wood burner gets very hot and radiates 7 KW of heat. It is too hot to touch so please take care.
Smoking
Water's Edge is a non-smoking holiday home. The only places that smoking is permitted is either in the parking bay or on the concrete slipway only. No smoking whatsoever is allowed in the building or on any of the wooden decking areas or balconies. Please dispose of any cigarette ends in the bin and do not discard into the water or around the grounds.
